Rocky Mountain Power, for example, is still offering a transition program for homeowners who want to install rooftop solar. Check with your utility to ask if they have, or are planning to roll out, a net metering or similar clean energy credit program.

HOA rules can’t reduce your solar production by 15 percent, or increase the cost of installing your system by more than $750. This gives you more freedom to generate your own clean energy, no matter what neighborhood you live in.
